The Future's So Bright...

Gone are the days when we shaded our eyes with our hand to look at the sun and wonder what was happening on its surface. We now know that the surface is the sun is volatile, with continuous bursts of energy being emitted called solar flares. The first recorded observation of a solar flare was made by Richard Carrington in 1859, projecting the image produced by an optical telescope. This is a copy of Richard's sketch of the event.
Since then, as with all things science, we've come a long way in our means of observances! This is a image of a solar flare taken in 2012, taken with a bit more powerful piece of equipment by NASA:
The frequency of solar flares varies, from several per day when the Sun is particularly active to less than one every week when the Sun is quiet, following the 11 year solar cycle.
Without a doubt, these flares affect the earth's atmosphere. They produce something called a coronal mass ejections, commonly referred to as CME. These CMEs are streams of highly energetic particles, containing X-rays and UV radiation that can disrupt long range radio communications in our ionosphere. These energetic protons can pass through the human body, causing biochemical damage, a concern for astronauts during space explorations.
The energetic particles emitted by solar flares also contribute to the aurora borealis and the aurora australis' magnificent displays...
Jane Lubchenco, of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) says, concerning solar flares posing a potential danger to our telecommunications and power grids, "This is not a matter of if, it's simply a matter of when and how big." Heather Carlini, of the Carlini Institute website, reports that these solar flares also affect humans here on earth in surprising ways. They have a direct affect on our central nervous system and brain function, and can cause the us to be:
Anxious
Worrisome
Jittery
Dizzy
Shaky
Irritable
Lethargic
Solar flares can also cause:
Memory Problems
Heart Palpitations
Nausea
Headaches
 Feelings of Pressure

I would be remiss to list quotes without checking our main source for information, the Bible. We see in the 121rst Psalm;
~The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.~ (KJV)
Although that seems contrary to what we're learning, not one sentence in that Bible is false. Let's dig a little deeper, and we will see it is not contrary at all. We know that the sun will play a role in the "End of Days" plan that our Father in Heaven is unfolding. YHWH says He will protect us from the potential harm to our lives by literally shortening the days!
~For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.~ Matthew 24 quoting Yeshua (Jesus) (KJV)
And so, as with all things here on earth, do not fear the SUN...fear the SON and His Father! Our hope is in Him, our deliverer! I leave you this week with this magnificent example of our Father's power, enjoy and give Him praise, for it is by His word that our sun gives light. :)
